What Can I Use To Clean My Fabric?

Cleaning your outdoor cushions is easier than you think! Usually, mild soap and water will do the trick. We do not recommend tossing your cushion covers in the wash. Over time washing your fabric could result in fading.  For the tougher stains, refer to Sunbrella’s comprehensive stain chart. Here are solutions for a few of the more common stains.

STAIN  SOLUTION
Berries Combine ¼ cup dishwashing liquid and 1 cup white vinegar per gallon of water.
Bird Droppings, Cola, Coffee/Tea, Ketchup/Mustard Combine ¼ cup of dishwashing liquid per gallon of water.
Tree Sap Apply cornstarch as an absorbent, remove excess with a straight edge, and clean up residual with dishwashing liquid and water.
Wine Combine ¼ cup dishwashing liquid, 1/3 cup white vinegar and a ½ cup to a full cup isopropyl alcohol or hydrogen peroxide per one gallon water.

HOW CAN I CLEAN MY WICKER FURNITURE?

Our wicker patio furniture is made from a high-quality resin material which is guaranteed against cracking, chalking or fading and can be kept outside all year long. To clean your frames, simply use warm soapy water and scrub away with a non-abrasive cloth. We recommend rinsing them off with your garden hose or clean water but please DO NOT use a pressure washer!

HOW CAN I CLEAN MY ALUMINUM FURNITURE?

Cast aluminum is great for outdoor furniture. It’s durable, versatile and almost completely maintenance free. To freshen up your frames, just use a mild soap and water solution and wipe clean with a non-abrasive cloth. Use your garden hose to rinse off the soap. Again, please DO NOT use a pressure washer.

HOW CAN I PROTECT MY PATIO FURNITURE FROM RUST?

Our manufacturers take extra care in ensuring your patio furniture will not rust. The frames are welded using a 360 degree circumference weld which does not allow water or precipitation to access the frames. To take extra precautions against discolouring, we suggest covering your furniture for the winter with a vinyl patio furniture cover. Some covers have a drawstring elastic bottom which allows extra protection from the elements.

HOW CAN I PROTECT MY PATIO FURNITURE FROM THE RAIN?

Rain and storms in Southern Alberta are unpredictable and inevitable. Our outdoor cushions have a thick foam core and are wrapped in Dacron as well as a water proof liner. At times when you are not able to rescue your cushions from the rain, turn your cushions on their side and allow the water to drain right through. When the sun is shining again, it will only take 2 or 3 hours to completely dry. We suggest bringing your cushions indoors during the winter or before a predictable storm. Outdoor vinyl covers are also available to keep your cushions looking like new.
